At Southern New Hampshire Internal Medicine Associates, we adhere to only
the highest of standards when it comes to caring for our patients. Beyond their
valuable expertise, our professionals exude a warmth and compassion that is
all too uncommon today in healthcare settings. Though our facility features
the latest in sophisticated medical technology, it is the excellence of our
staff which truly distinguishes our practice.
SNHIMA has on-staff physicians who focus exclusively on the prevention, diagnosis,
and treatment of adult diseases. Recognized in the New Hampshire medical community
and beyond, our board-certified internists are committed to providing comprehensive,
quality care for adults at all stages of their lives. They employ a holistic
approach to healthcare, educating patients on a wide range of topics such as
disease prevention, reproductive issues, and mental health.
Unlike many busy healthcare professionals, the doctors at Southern New Hampshire
Internal Medicine Associates take the time to address patients' questions and
concerns. They treat individuals with the utmost in respect and courtesy, and
keep waiting time to a minimum. More importantly, our physicians encourage
patients to take an active role in all facets of their healthcare.

Many doctors of internal medicine choose to sub-specialize in a particular
area of study. Subspecialty certification typically requires several additional
years of training beyond the standard internal medicine residency. Our staff
features two specialists, each licensed in their individual areas of expertise.
Their subspecialties include Rheumatology and Infectious
Diseases. SNHIMA's specialists are an extraordinary asset to our practice,
helping patients to better manage and treat the acute health problems which
affect their daily lives.

A Physician Assistant (PA) is a health care professional who is licensed to
practice medicine under physician supervision. Southern New Hampshire Internal
Medicine Associates is proud to have dedicated physician assistants as part
of our team. Through their close working relationship with our staff physicians,
our PAs bring a new dimension of personal care to our practice. In addition
to performing physical exams, they have the ability to diagnose and treat common
illnesses, analyze and interpret test results, and prescribe medication. Our
Physician Assistants also take on an educator role at our facility, counseling
patients on how to prevent illness and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Nurse practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice nurses who make independent
as well as collaborative decisions in the scope of patient care. Our NPs are
actively engaged in all areas of our practice, and are a unique and integral
part of SNHIMA. They take a leadership role in both the medical and nursing
aspects of caring for our patients. The duties of an NP include taking health
histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic
tests, prescribing pharmaceuticals, and recommending courses of treatment.
Our experienced nurse practitioners also act as consultants, advising individual
patients and families on the promotion and maintenance of good health.
